S&P Global led an investment that brought Kaiko's extended Series B funding round to $110 million, the crypto data company announced on 14 September. That figure describes the enlarged round's total. Kaiko's announcement also names BNP Paribas, Coinbase Ventures, Nasdaq Ventures and Royal Bank of Canada among the participating investors.

The institutions are joining a working group chaired by Kaiko to help shape data infrastructure for tokenized markets. Existing investors Anthemis, Point Nine and Revaia also participated in the financing.

Kaiko says the funding will support its established market data business and its expanding blockchain infrastructure. The work covers sending proprietary financial data to smart contracts, converting blockchain activity into standardized records for conventional systems, and supporting confidential valuation and analysis.

For developers, the useful distinction is between representing an asset as a token and supplying the data needed to operate a market around it. Pricing inputs, valuation records and usable reporting each address a separate part of that problem.

The working group offers a way for financial institutions to influence those requirements. Its formation is an organizational step; the announcement does not establish that all planned integrations are already operating.
